Camusdarach beach as featured in the film "Local Hero" is less than a five minute walk from the house. The Islands of Eigg, Rum & Skye all of which can be viewed from the house are remnants of the last great volcanic activity of Europe and form part of a line of extinct volcanoes stretching from Antrim in Ireland through Mull & Skye to Iceland and east Greenland.

In fact the Lochaber area has been featured in many films including Brave Heart, Highlander, Rob Roy and most recently Harry Potter.

From Ben Nevis and it's year round mountain resort, boat trips on lochs or out to sea to visit the Small & Outer Isles, canoeing, golf, fishing, wildlife, good food & live music is all practically on your door step.
Around every corner is yet another breath taking view but it is also an area with a wealth of history, legends, heroes and folklore.

For those wanting to get married on Camusdarach Beach, or indeed any other location in this beautiful part of the world, Ceithir Raithean is the perfect base from which to enjoy your honeymoon, anniversary or any other celebration.
