Read more »Travelling along the A830 you will come to Glenfinnan and the Monument built to commemorate Bonnie Prince Charlie and the 1745 Jacobite Rising. Here you will also see the Viaduct commenced in July 1897. You can also board the classic vessel M.V. Sileas and enjoy the stunning views of Loch Shiel.
At Traigh there is a beautiful nine hole golf course and fishing trips can be taken from Loch Morar and Mallaig. If you fancy a canoeing trip why not try Rock Hopper Scotland.
Arisaig has a stunning harbour with cafe, gift shop and moorings available. From here take the M.V. Sheerwater to see the Isles of Eigg, Muck and Rum and more than likely you'll see whales, dolphins and seals.
From the small fishing village of Mallaig you can take a casual stroll around the harbour, or hop on the Jacobite steam train to Fort William. Mallaig is also where you can take the car ferry to Skye and the Outer Isles. Fancy lunch at the Old Forge – the remotest pub in Mainland Britain, then hop aboard the Western Isles over to Knoydart. Mallaig also has an indoor heated swimming pool and gym, food shops, chemist, resturants and gift shopping. Throughout summer & winter the local pubs have live music and details of these can be found in the local paper West Word. Many thanks to Shooglenifty for the gallery soundtrack @ shoogle.com
Some of the above is seasonal though but throughout the year you should always keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife from Common Buzzards, Deer and if your lucky Sea Eagles, Pine Martins and Otters.
We have just added two new Specialize Mountain Bikes complete with helmets and baskets for refreshment & picnics for you to enjoy a day out exploring.
The cost is £60 per week for both bikes.
